At Arlo Hotel, we enjoy food. It’s part of the local New York City experience to discuss food, think about it, even dream about the perfect meal. We like to share this culinary passion with our guests and encourage them to go on an eating tour of the city where they don’t stop at the main tourist attractions for a day but instead our guided by their stomachs.
A New York City day of eating should begin with bagels. There are many legendary bagel shops in the city, including Russ & Daughters in the Upper East Side and in Brooklyn, Sadelle’s, located close to our hotel in SoHo, and Ess-a-Bagel which offers massively sized portions in Midtown. Grab a bagel with some lox, sable, or other smoked fish, add capers, onions, tomatoes, and a dab of cream cheese and you’re held over until lunch.
Speaking of lunch, at Arlo SoHo NYC Hotel we recommend grabbing a slice. There’s something comforting and just “right” about stopping by a local well-reviewed pizza shop and grabbing a warm slice. It’s a tradition embraced by tourists and locals alike. Whether you’re exploring Greenwich Village or spending the afternoon across the bridge in Williamsburg, there’s always a quality pizza shop nearby that offers authentic NY style pizza to satisfy your lunchtime cravings.
For dinner, there’s a multitude of New York City options. If COVID-19 restrictions have eased, then get a meal with a view at one of the city’s best skyscraper restaurants including Manhatta in the Financial District, Eleven Madison Park in the Flatiron, or The Consulate in the Upper West Side. The beauty of New York City is you have so many options. If you don’t want fancier dining for dinner, then grab a hot dog and pretzel from a street vendor and have dinner while you walk along Central Park. Or pickup some pho from a small Vietnamese place. The possibilities for your palate are endless!
