Possible Reasons for Attendees to Leave Negative Reviews about an Event You Organised

You cannot expect to stage a perfect event. You will most likely face setbacks along the way. The things you planned might not go as expected, and it is okay. As long as problems will not lead to the possible cancellation of the event, you have nothing to worry about. Try your best to make it as close to perfect as possible by minimising potential mistakes.

Poor stage and lighting

The first thing attendees will see during the event is the stage. If it looks exciting, they will look forward to the event. It is a sign that great things are about to happen, and they are lucky to be around to witness it. If the stage decoration is terrible and the lighting equipment barely makes anyone on stage visible from afar, it is a terrible mistake. Make sure that you choose the best AV company or AV companies to help make the stage look amazing.

Logistical nightmare

People expect logistical issues, depending on the number of people expected to come. For instance, if you are going to stage a concert, it will most likely involve thousands of attendees. The problem is if there is a terrible flow of people and vehicles to and from the concert venue that delays everything. You can expect everyone to complain or even decide not to come. Find a way to analyse how to deal with logistical issues or also conduct a dry run to determine what else you need to tweak.

Lack of support

In a significant event involving lots of people, you can expect attendees to face problems. In a concert, some people might not find their seats. In a charity gala, some attendees might request to change their meals. You cannot stop these problems from happening, but you can solve them on the spot if you assign someone to be on the help desk. You can set up several desks around the venue so that people will know where to go when they need help.

Boring activities

Regardless of the nature of the event, you need to bring life to it. Corporate events are usually dull because of long speeches and unnecessary presentations. You can limit them and replace them with song or dance numbers. You can use several strategies to make the activities fun and reduce negative comments from attendees.

Lengthy programme

You need to understand that people have a limited attention span. You cannot expect them to focus on any activity that lasts for several hours. Therefore, you need to limit the programme depending on the nature of the event. Try asking yourself if you would enjoy the activity if you were one of the attendees. If you also think it would be boring due to the long hours, you need to change it.

Again, you cannot expect a perfect event. The goal is to minimise problems. If you have staged events in the past, you need to learn from them, so this time it will be better.
