A game brought back from Italy to France and dates back to the 14th century is baccarat, which is recognized as one of the most popular card games played in various land-based and online casinos today. Named after its worst hand which is zero, it’s because the value of all tens and face cards (kings, queens, and jacks) amount to zero. Ace cards are worth 1 point while cards 2 to 9 are worth their face value in points.

Throughout the years, numerous variations of the game have been developed. And today, the most popular variations played in a land-based and/or online casino are mini-baccarat, punto banco, and baccarat chemin de fer. And while it’s a game that is easy to master, thus, receiving the reputation of being the best game for beginners, it is important to learn the basics and we will start with the terminologies associated with the card game and what you will mostly hear on the floor and/or read through your screen.

Baccarat – This term is used when you or the bank have a card total value of 0, which is known as the worst hand to have in this particular card game.

Shoe – This term is used to refer to the automatic dealing machine that helps eliminate any accident that might happen because of manual dealing. Containing six or eight decks of cards shuffled together, it will be visible on the table in a land-based casino or baccarat site.

Banker Bet – This bet type is one of the three possible outcomes that you can choose when placing bets in this game. With a low house edge of 1.06 percent, it is a good choice if you’re going to pick between the banker and the player.

Player Bet – This, on the other hand, is another type of bet you can choose alongside banker and tie. The same with the banker bet, the player bet also has a low house edge of 1.24 percent and pays 1:1.

Tie Bet – One of the three available bets in baccarat, it has a house edge of more than 14 percent. This means that the payout is 8:1 or 9:1, but this also means that you can lose big too. It’s a popular advice to never place a tie bet.

Mini baccarat – This is the smaller version of the table. As the lower-stakes version, it is popular among mass players because of the lower table limits.

Natural – This term is often used when you’ve been dealt with two cards that have a total value of nine or eight, which is a “natural.”

Face Cards – In baccarat, all face cards such as the jacks, queens and kings are valued at zero. No matter the suit of these face cards, the value is still a zero.

A truly engaging game, beginners are sure to learn to love this card game. It’s exciting to bet on the outcome of the baccarat game, no matter where you’re playing – online or offline. It might sound complex at first, but it is not.

Just enjoy playing and make the most of your experience. Win or lose, baccarat, especially if played on a legit website such as www.name-pics.com, is a casino game that is fun, exciting, and everything in between. In addition to all these, the fun and convenience factor of online casino gaming is taken to a whole new level if the website that you decide to play on employs the services of an SEO iGaming company. That’s because chances are, compared to other online casinos, it has a better overall user experience due to enhanced loading page time, web navigation, and the like.
