Interview W/ Congressman Brady on Fiscal Cliff Vote
In an exclusive interview with Congressman Kevin Brady on KSEV 700 I ask the simple question: "Why did you vote 'yes' for the Senate bill to resolve the 'fiscal cliff?'" The answer was not what I fully expected.
There are a couple of issues that I am still concerned with. 1) The 85 republicans that voted for the fiscal cliff resolution leaves the republican led House in a far weaker state when it comes to debating the upcoming debt ceiling. 2) While the Republicans seem ready for a fight over the debt ceiling it will interesting how firm they hold the line when the media, and White House, begin the pressure over debt defaults.
In 2011, the Repbulicans fell victim to those same pressures even as the 10-yr treasury yield fell to record lows at the time stating there was "no risk" of default. I ask Congressman Brady to make sure and watch the markets and yields this time around.
